Australia Student Visa Application for Pakistani Students

Basic Requirements for Student Visa Application:

1: Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE):

  • A CoE is a certificate issued by the university/institute to confirm your registration in the course. It ensures that the course is approved and registered under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses (CRICOS).
  • If you are enrolling in an English Language Course, bridging course, or foundation course, provide a separate CoE for each course.

2: Valid Passport:

  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of application. If your passport expires during your stay, apply for a new passport and update the embassy with the new details.

3: English Language Proficiency:

  • You must provide proof of English proficiency through one of the following tests:
  • IELTS Academic: Minimum band score of 6 in each section.
  • Occupational English Test (OET): Score of B in each section.
  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum scores of 12 (listening), 13 (reading), 21 (writing), 18 (speaking).
  •  Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum score of 50 in each section.
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Minimum score of 169 in each section.
  • ECS's sister concern, Excellence Institute, offers preparation and test centers for TOEFL, IDP IELTS, and CAE. Contact EITMS or ECS counsellors for details.

4: Health Checkup and Insurance:

  •    Provide proof of good health through a health checkup and certificate from empanelled doctors. Schedule an appointment via [Health Centers](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/contact-us/offices-and-locations/list).
  • Obtain an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your visa. ECS can arrange eligible health cover through providers like nIB, Allianz, BUPA, and Medi Bank.

5: Proof of Funds:

   - Show proof of sufficient funds to cover travel costs, 12 months of living expenses (A$24,000), tuition fees, and school costs for any dependents. Provide bank statements or a bank letter for validation.

  • ECS can assist you in assessing the required funds for your visa application.

6: Genuine Student Requirement:

  • As of March 23, 2024, student visa applications are assessed under the new Genuine Student (GS) requirement. You must answer questions about your current circumstances, study plans, and future benefits in the online application form.

Certified Copies of Academic Transcripts and Passport:

  • Provide true copies of all academic documents and transcripts.

Statement of Purpose:

  • Submit a self-written Statement of Purpose explaining:
  • Why you chose Australia?
  • Reasons for choosing the course and its relevance to your previous studies.
  • Why studying in your home country is not suitable for achieving your career goals.
  • Why you select a particular institution in Australia and knowledge about other providers.
  • Course content and assessment in Australia.
  • Knowledge of the Australian city where you will study.
  • Career plans and how the course will add value to your goals.
  • Your immigration history and any study gaps or reasons for switching fields.
