English Language Requirements

You must provide evidence of your English language proficiency when applying for your visa.

For degree-level courses at a UK university, the institution may assess your English level through exams, internal tests, online exams, or previous academic grades. Check with your UK university for specific requirements.

For courses below degree level (e.g., Pathways, Foundation, Pre-Master, Pre-Sessional English, HND, ACCA, Diploma, Certificate courses), the UK Home Office requires a secure English language test. Details are available [here](https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prove-your-english-language-abilities-with-a-secure-english-language-test-selt).

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has minimum English language requirements for reading, writing, listening, and speaking, depending on your level of study. Your educational institution may have different requirements.

Our sister organization,Excellence Institute of Technical & Management Sciences, offers various English tests both online and at test centers. Visit [facbook.com/eitms.edu.pk] for more information and to book a test.

We offer IELTS, TOEFL, Language Cert, Skills for English SELT exams, Cambridge English Preparations and exams (CAE/FCE/BEC/Linguaskill), and the Duolingo English Preparations and Test.

Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

As part of your application, you must obtain a biometric residence permit (BRP) from UKVI. Schedule an appointment with UKVI to have your fingerprints and a digital photo taken.

VFS UK manages visa applications. For updates on the visa submission process, appointment booking, and fees, visit [VFS Global](https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pk/en).

Go to the designated Visa Application Centre (VAC) with all supporting documents (original). Pay the non-refundable visa processing fee (current fee details at [ukvacpk.com](https://www.ukvacpk.com)). You will need to provide biometric information, which includes scans of all 10 fingers and a full-face digital photograph. The VAC will give you a receipt once your application is submitted.

UK Credibility Interview

The UK Home Office will conduct a credibility interview at the VAC when the student applicant submits their application and biometric information. The interview may also be conducted by the UK university before issuing a CAS or Offer letter to assess suitability. Excellence institute  can prepare you for this interview.

Process for Credibility Interview

  • The interview is primarily conducted via video conferencing, with telephony as a contingency.
  • Interviews are conducted by an officer in the UK, not by entry clearance officers.
  • The officer will ask about your reasons for studying in the UK and ensure English language requirements are met.
  • A report of the interview will be sent to the visa officer to aid in the decision-making process.
  • If further examination of student rules, such as immigration history or finances, is needed, an in-depth interview may be conducted.

Students Under 18 with Young Savers Account

  • Submit a birth certificate with parental consent for independent travel and studies in the UK.
  • Provide the original birth certificate to reflect the parents who signed the consent form.

Students Aged 18 and Over

  • Unless you have an official birth certificate issued at the time of birth, place the required balance for tuition and living expenses in your personal bank account.
